CODE OF CONDUCT

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR PROGRAMS.

BE EARLY OR ON TIME. A little extra time never hurt anyone. Use it to get ready, perform extra stretching or movement prep, or communicate with your coach.

BE COACHABLE. For safety and for the smooth operation of our group training classes and coaching sessions we require all participants to follow the instructions of the coach—including this document written by the head coach—at all times.

  • Coaching Sessions: Coaching happens at all times during coaching sessions. Make sure you are paying attention, comprehending what is being asked of you, and seek clarification for any instructions you do not understand.
  • Group Classes: Coaching happens at the scheduled start time of each class. All pertinent instructions are given, exercises coached and reviewed, and an opportunity to ask questions is given in the period before the warmup begins. IT IS HIGHLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ARE PRESENT FOR THIS. Coaching may also occur at any point during the class.
  • At any time if a coach offers you a correction to an exercise performed incorrectly you must do your diligence to follow those instructions. This is for either your safety, the exercise’s effectiveness, or both. The coach may also offer tips and suggestions that may enhance your experience—use these suggestions as you see fit but understand the difference between a correction and a suggestion.
  • If you need an exercise substitution please ASK your coach. They will supply you with the most appropriate substitution.

BE INQUISITIVE. Your coach is here to answer your questions. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW, ASK!!

BE SUPPORTIVE. Support your fellow clients and members in a way that is encouraging, uplifting, and motivating. Let coaches coach, but cheer on your friends!

BE SAFE. Accidents can and do happen, but we can minimize the risk of injury by listening to your coach, following their instructions, and communicating any pain, injury, or concerns with your coach prior to the exercise session.

BE FOCUSED. Avoid distractions by silencing your phones, smartwatches, and leaving all other distractions where they belong: at home, or at work, or wherever they originate. Being distracted by work and other issues potentially leads to a less-than-satisfying experience at best, or severe injury or death at worst. Be in the moment—leave everything else outside of the gym. Restrict phone use in class to the SugarWOD® App only.

BE RESPECTFUL. It is your responsibility to be respectful to your coach, to your fellow clients and members, and to anyone else in our facility. You must also respect the coach’s authority.

  • By adhering to the Code of Conduct in its entirety you are being respectful.
  • NO MEMBERSHIP OR COACHING PACKAGE GRANTS YOU AUTHORITY TO DISRESPECT ANYONE.
  • Remember, THE COACH IS IN CHARGE AND COMMANDS FULL AUTHORITY ON THE PREMISES.
  • This particular code is strictly enforced. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

REFUSAL TO ADHERE TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT MAY RESULT IN DISMISSAL FROM THE CLASS OR SESSION, OR TERMINATION OF SERVICES EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT REFUND.
